Hillary can strong-arm her way into the White House

Unfortunately, just as a key Clinton adviser last night was about to reveal Hillary's impressions of the vice-presidency, Hillary began her victory/concession speech -- but we heard enough to know that Hillary may well be interested in the office.
Now we face a pretty frightening potential narrative: Hillary could threaten to use her position to further divide the Democratic Party as a bargaining chip to plant herself in the White House.
If she chooses to go this route, it would put Barack in an extremely difficult position. If he declines to offer her a spot on the ticket, she could potentially whip up a frenzy against him as a non-unifier, effectively convincing many of her supporters to never vote for him. (This strategy could be employed through surrogates and well-chosen phrases, so as to obscure her hard-ball tactics.)
Of course Barack would have to weigh this risk against the considerable drawbacks of partnering with someone he doesn't like or trust, and seeming to backpeddle on his pledge to turn the page on old politics.
